Today we’re talking about making your dreams a reality, whether it’s a fantasy wedding theme, over-the-top bachelorette party, or having a professional photo shoot in Paris at the peak of spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. When Zoe and Alston got engaged just after Valentine’s Day, she longed for an opportunity to celebrate in the most romantic city in the world – Paris. So, they decided to make it happen by scheduling a romantic springtime pre wedding in Paris to catch the gorgeous cherry blossoms in bloom. Great idea, Zoe! And great job to their photographer, Paris Happy Pictures by Daria Lorman, who spent a whole day helping the newly-engaged couple feel at ease in front of the camera in the streets of Paris.
Zoe took from her Malaysian background in choosing three different gowns for her photos – a traditional western white gown for the photos near the Eiffel Tower, a vivid red gown to punch up the colour in the photos with the sakura blossoms, and then a gold gown (a more typical colour of Malaysian weddings) to compliment the atmosphere of walking along the Seine River and the Alexander III bridge. Creating these three different looks was such a great idea that ended up with a stunning photo album, which Zoe and Alston used as inspiration for the décor and atmosphere when the actual wedding day came.
There’s a lot of love about Paris — the Eiffel Tower, Champs–Elysées, Versailles, gorgeous cherry blossoms in bloom in the streets of Paris — and now we can add this absolutely breathtaking engagement shoot to the list.
From the bride…”We are both from Malaysia, a beautiful country which houses many diverse religions and cultures. It was very important for me to meet someone who has the same roots, so that our families could easily accept each other. That is exactly what happened when I met Alston. His family accepted me as their daughter and my parents accepted him as their son. Since the early beginning of our relationships we enjoyed escaping from our daily life and travel together. We are two real foodies and love discovering new food together. We knew we complement each other in many more ways.
Marriage is a big responsibility, but after spending four Valentine Days together Alston found the courage to step into this long life-lasting journey. When Alston proposed to me, he knew I’ve always dreamed about a trip to Europe and pre-wedding photos taken overseas. So we decided to go there in spring and do a prewedding shoot. With breathtaking backdrops and stunning surroundings, Paris is indeed one of the most picturesque and gorgeous destinations. I had three different outfits: white wedding gown for the Eiffel tower area photos, red dress that perfectly matched sakura blooms close to the Notre-Dame cathedral and Louvre area, and golden gown to stroll along the river Seine till the Alexander III bridge. The styling from Yana Dolgodvorova complemented my looks. In contrast, Alston wore a simple blue western suit to match my outfits.
We revelled in each other’s company and had fun, while Daria Lorman snapped away and worked her photo magic. The photos we got were beautiful and we loved them! Even with two people who were nervous and not used to posing in public, she managed to make it all work and take many high quality pictures. We felt comfortable during the session and totally enjoyed our time with her. These prewedding pictures from Paris played an important role in our wedding decoration.”
