Lee and John met in what they describe as a “faraway land”, most commonly known as the Internet and wed at St Mary Star of the Sea and celebrated into the night in the Theatre Room of the Werribee Mansion. Lee and John envisioned an elegant wedding with an Old Hollywood theme and Lee worn a vintage sexy to suit their Old Hollywood wedding theme with the help of Anna Campbell’s stunning fitted lace creations. Throughout the night, black and white movies were playing in the background and purple and pink hues magically lit up the walls. The bride’s advice for couples? Love one another and stay sexy for one another! All the beautiful images captured by Clarte Photography
How did you and your partner meet?
We met in a faraway land… the internet.
How did he propose?
On a picnic at the beautiful Melbourne Botanical Gardens where we first kissed.
What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship?
Find the one you love and always remember why you fell in love with that person to begin with.
Tell us about your wedding gown and how you chose it:
I love the look and feel of silk and lace! So, I picked both for my special day.
For the Church Ceremony, I wore a soft and romantic ivory dress with a beaded lace sweetheart neckline and long veil. For the Evening Reception, I went vintage sexy to suit our Old Hollywood wedding theme with the help of Anna Campbell’s stunning fitted lace creations.
What sort of style did you envision for your wedding day?
We chose the elegant Theatre Room at Werribee Mansion and went Old Hollywood all the way…we both love music and art so it was perfect! We had some old black and white movies running throughout the evening with shades of pink and purple hues lighting up the walls to keep the mood enchanted and romantic.
What was your favorite moment from the day?
How do I pick one! Our first dance was pretty special for the both of us.
Any DIY décor elements?
Lots! We pretty much worked off an empty canvas and styled it with things and colours we both love. From flowers to art-deco styled vases, candleholders, lighting and ceiling to floor projections…. we had some wonderful suppliers (and family!) who cared about our vision and helped pull everything together for us on the day.
If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
Win lotto and hire a wedding planner! Haha… maybe the weather. We had some rain that prevented us from taking photos in the gardens.
Any tips that you can give to future brides?
1) The wedding is about you and your husband first and foremost.
2) Take it easy and enjoy planning it with him as it’s his day too and you’ll learn about each other.
3) You are beautiful – don’t go doubting this at any stage of the process. Ever.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Love one another and stay sexy for one another!
