Jennifer and Sean dreamt of a wedding that balanced simplicity with elegance and an overall tone of fun. Though Mother Nature threw them a curveball with city wide power outages that left guests stranded in the hotel elevator, the event turned out to be absolutely perfect. Playing up the rustic simplicity of their venue at McCormick Ranch in Camarillo, California, their décor showcased the do-it-yourself talents of the bride and her generous friends and family. There was a handmade bench that doubled as a guestbook, weather-worn windows upcycled into photo and message displays, old barrels used as table legs, a wheelbarrow-turned-ice cooler, and even a gorgeous photo wall made to look like a Victorian style dining room wall, complete with picture frame openings for the bride and groom to peek through….
Anything but simple, the bride was a vision in her mermaid style lace wedding gown by Enzoani, surrounded by her bridesmaids decked out in short playful purple dresses. And to bring in a touch of family heritage, they worked in Dutch wooden clogs and a Dutch Girl and boy figurine into their décor and photos! Their dessert and candy bar was set up on an old farm hay cart, and small succulents decorated their tiered wedding cake topped with a playful cake topper.
