Anastasia and Alexander wanted their wedding portrait photo shoot to symbolize the sense of miracles and magic that spark in the air when the wintry snow covers the ground and a chilly wind brings people closer together for warmth. See how successful they were at capturing plenty of symbolism in the photos by Elena Zhun wedding photography.
A creative holiday twist on a traditional horse-and-carriage winter photo shoot, the couple opted for reindeer companions and carried the theme into the motifs of their invitations and cake topper. What a charming touch, especially knowing that deer symbolize abundance, strength, and sunshine – something their day had plenty of!
Bundling themselves in thick scarves and the bride worn cloaks under her pretty Light blue wedding dress, the bride and groom radiate right along with the bright sunshine that reflected in every direction on the day of their shoot. Keeping the colour palette simple, in a range of muted grays and blues, this photo shoot illustrates how sometimes its best to let the atmosphere and the ambiance be the highlight of the decor.

...Winter is a time for miracles! Anastasia and Alexander like winter, with it’s snow-covered woods and mountains. Therefore the wedding was decided to organize in the wintertime. For the wedding photo shoot they wanted something very touching to emphasize festive winter mood, but a photo walk with horses didn't suit them. And why not reindeer?, newlyweds thought. The reindeer always symbolized winter, expectation of miracles, and also boundless forests. Besides, the deer is a symbol of abundance, durability, the Tree of Life and sunshine. And it is just a very graceful and beautiful animal.
The photoshoot took place in a separate day from the wedding, just with a beautiful reindeer and nice scenery. Instead of a traditional veil the head of the bride was decorated by a wreath of winter flowers, fir-tree and pine branches. A bouquet was made of them too.
The silvery fir-tree perfectly transferred the gloss of the winter snow. Weather presented to the couple a fine day for the photoshoot. The sun shone and the frost made cheeks flush. It wasn't really warm, but love is capable to kindle any ice and to warm in any frosts. And our newlyweds warmed each other with their breath and love. Let's wish them good luck and many happy years together!!
