This featured style shoot from Victoria Ezhenkova is all about serenity. Victoria says she was inspired to style this photo shoot with the awakening that takes place when winter gives way to spring. She uses a black wedding gown, stark white and black anemones , and black-and-gray photos to symbolize the harshness at the end of a long winter, cold and devoid of colour. The room setting echoes this harshness, as the bride is shown in a complete bare room, barefoot on seemingly cold, unfinished wood floors.
She contrasts this with the softness of pastels found in the bouquet by Marussia flowers and the sprig of greenery on the photo packet, reminding us of the slow and deliberate way spring works its way into the world. Towards the end, the bride’s rich amber hair loosely falls around her shoulders, and she can be seen smiling and slightly more alert.
Overall, the photo shoot gives quite a romantic feel of a bride in quiet reflection, barefoot and with loosely-tied hair, quietly ushering in her own transition from maiden to bride as winter turns to spring around her.
